How to accept options/bookings and process payments in the different currencies

A new feature that allows supporting multi-currency enables accepting options/bookings and processing payments in the currencies that differ from the base currency of your vessels(s). You might want to use this feature in case you would like to offer more payment options in different currencies and your bank / online payment gateway allows you to do so.

Payment methods update

When activated, the multi-currency support feature allows setting payment methods in currencies different from the base currency of your vessel(s). You will be able to select the currency when adding a new payment method.

Adding option/booking

Agents, customers and Fleet managers are able to choose a preferred currency and then the method payment when adding an option. It's up to the Fleet manager to make the payment methods in specific currencies available to different clients (i.e. direct customers can’t choose EUR in case EUR payment method is available for agents only).

To change the currency use the drop-down on the right corner of rate plans/specials block when adding an option. The prices will be recalculated accordingly based on the current exchange rate provided by StripeRates*

*Inseanq is using StripeRates for the current exchange rates which is updated on a daily basis. This exchange rate determined at the time of option/booking creation will be applicable to the created option/booking and all items added to it further, and it can’t be changed.

Manage options/bookings

On a Booking summary screen the Fleet manager is able to switch between the base currency and option/booking currency, thus it's possible to review option/booking summary and manage payments by using the most convenient currency for it.

Relocate & rescheduling update

Please note, once you turn the relocate mode you will be working with prices in base currency until the changes are saved. Further the amounts will be adjusted to the initial currency of the option/booking upon saving. Rescheduling of the reservations only works between vessels that support the same payment methods as per the initial currency of the option/booking.
