What is advanced setting for maximum occupancy
Maximum occupancy is a special setting allowing you to limit the maximum number of guests you are able to welcome on a particular trip on your vessel.
Why / when do I need to use the setting of maximum occupancy
The main purpose of this setting is to meet the requirements of maximum number of guests on board defined by local regulations. So if your actual vessel capacity differs from the permissions in the destination, you might like to use an advanced setting for maximum occupancy to meet the requirements.
In other words, it will help you not to exceed a particular number of guests booked based on permitted capacity, although your actual capacity may be bigger.
This setting adds extra value when your vessel operates in 2 or more destinations with different permissions, hence you can easily adjust your maximum occupancy to local regulations respectfully. Another option could be, your vessel has naturally more space than permitted in the destination.
How to set maximum occupancy
1. Activate the setting
Go to Cabins under the Settings tab of the left navigation bar. Enable the settings to allow manual setting of maximum occupancy at the product & trip level.
Tip: The physical capacity of the vessel (i.e. the maximum number of guests based on the actual number of guests in all cabins) will be applied to all your trips and products by default.
2. Set up maximum occupancy on the Product level (apply to all trips respectfully)
Go to Products from the left navigation bar, click the three dots symbol to the right of the product and click 'edit' (or simply click on the product name in the list). the maximum number of guests in the maximum occupancy field as needed and click 'save'.
Tip: Please note that it’s not possible to edit maximum occupancy in the Product in case there are trips in the schedule associated with this Product
Tip: Please note that it’s not possible to use maximum occupancy on the Product level in case there have been 2 or more vessels linked to the Product
Tip: The number of spaces locked will have no effect on the maximum occupancy defined separately unless it lowers the amount of bed spaces below the actual number of bed spaces available for the product
Alternatively set up maximum occupancy on the Trip level (apply to specific trips only).
Go to the Availability module from the left navigation bar, click the three dots symbol to the right of the trip and click 'edit' (alternatively, click on the trip to zoom in and click 'edit' on the screen that opens up to the right). Update the maximum number of guests in the maximum occupancy field as needed and click 'save'.
Tip: The maximum occupancy on the trip level can’t be lower than the number of already optioned / booked guests
Tip: Setting on a trip level will be prioritized over the Product level maximum occupancy if different.
Counter of guests has been added to the cart on add option screens showing the maximum number of guests based on occupancy settings. While the number spaces in cabins may exceed the permitted number of guests it won’t be possible to add more guests to the reservation than maximum occupancy.
